Foodies Festival Syon Park

Kicking off my first food festival of the year at Syon Park Foodies. Of course it was going to be a good weekend...

A) I was going back home to London (and the weather was great)!

B) Well it's the foodies festival!

Syon Park had a great line up of chefs, bakers and pop up exhibitors for the weekend, including in the chefs theatre: - Anjula Devi (TV author and chef)

- Jane Devonshire (MasterChef winner 2016) and as always the lovely Dhruv Baker hosting and providing tips throughout demos.

In the cakes and desserts theatre:

- Charlotte White (Restoration Cake)

- John Holland (Baker on board)

and without forgetting the Bake off champion of 2016 Candice Brown!

I was looking forward to watching demos from them all, they are all inspiring and create such great food, which you get to taste too!

Being an avid Bake Off fan and since I met Nadiya last year, I of course had to meet Candice... it would be rude not too!! Inside the bakers tent saw Candice doing her showstopper, monster, tower of a cake. Chocolate cherry, with tiers that just seemed to go on!

The weather that weekend was so hot too, so maybe not the best when working with chocolate- but no one seemed to mind a little mess and it tasted good all the same.

Outside the tents saw plenty more action to enjoy..

Samples of cuisine from all over the world, traditional paella from Spain, curry and noodles from Asia, crepes from France, the best of British with cheese and local businesses too! I love trying new food and cuisine from different countries and festivals like these allow you to get your taste buds going. I mean what else could you want?

A drink maybe? being such a nice sunny day, maybe a Pimms from the pop up stool? Or a Captain Morgans from the onsite ship:-)

On the drinks front, British brewed beer, homemade gin and locally made wines were all on offer (if I wasn't driving, I mean, who could say no?) I loved sampling a few and getting inspiration on flavour combos. Last year I brought Toffee Vodka which was interesting, but this year I was sampling gins- wondering what flavour I can make next? Instead of the damson gin, which I have been doing for the last two years...

Check out my Foodies Festival page where I have shared photos and more info! :-) Also read again soon, after my next foodies festival on the year at Cannon Hill Park in June.
