Taste of Catalonia, London Southbank

This weekend I was in London for a University reunion so missed out on the Tatton Park, Foodies Festival. But as you can imagine a cheeky food photo was not far away! Southbank had a popup food festival going on this weekend, "A Taste of Catalonia". Me and my friends went to check it out as we we passing. I mean, Estrella Damm Bar? Yes please!!

It was only a small event, mainly the teaching of local Spanish products and events in Catalonia along with a small market, but nevertheless worth a visit.

We came across "Brindisa" who were sampling "Pan con Aceite". The baker was explaining how the bread was made, the dough was frozen and then cooked from frozen to give it an extra crispiness. It was so tasty, light and crispy and covered in Olive Oil. A real fine brand, I love Spanish Olive Oil, the purity and flavour is like no other.. definitely worth spending more on a quality product.

After we went for lunch at Le Pain Quotidien, I love this place, even if it was only my second ever visit! The first time was with my mother in Bicester and I remembering having an amazing scone, so yes I decided to try it again! Not very adventurous I know but it was a freshly made scone (still warm). Spelt and Quinoa Scone with sultanas and almonds, served with ricotta cheese and raspberry jam- YUM! Accompanied with a Masala Chai tea, perfect lunch and perfect company.. was a happy saturday!:-)

ther!
